Safeguarding

and Prevent

Effective date: April 2nd 2025

Safeguarding and Prevent

Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is defined as:

• Protecting children from maltreatment
• Preventing impairment of children’s health or development
• Ensuring that children grow up in circumstances consistent with the provision of safe and effective care
• Taking action to enable all children to have the best outcomes

The legal definition of Children includes everyone under the age of 18. Employers should provide Apprentices with a safe environment and equality of opportunity, and work with Wow Hair Academy to promote the welfare of children in line with the points above. We cover Safeguarding from the start with induction and throughout the course. All learners have access to the induction book.
